
Little Otters Program LLC is Hiring
Little Otters Program, a nature and play based learning program located at Emery Farm in Durham, NH is looking for a part-time Cooperative Assistance Teacher. This role will work closely with the lead teacher to support a well balanced curriculum that centers around using the farm and natural landscape as a living classroom.
Duties include:
Supporting the learning environments of children ages 5 to 8, 20 hours a week.
Working with the lead teacher to create and prepare for lesson plans.
Collaboratively teaching lessons on a variety of K and 1st appropriate subjects.
Fostering a mutually respectful environment between children and staff.
Ensuring classroom safety both indoors and outdoors.
Communicating with parents and caregivers.
Assisting with drop off and dismissal.
Maintaining the classroom space.
Desired Qualifications:
At least 1 year experience teaching in a classroom setting.
Degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education.
NH teaching certificate preferred.
Experience in nature and play based learning, Fundations, and Reading and Writing Workshop preferred.
1st aid and CPR certified, will pay to train the right person.
We are looking for an empathetic, kind and experienced educator who enjoys collaborative teaching and being outdoors.
Benefits and Pay:
$17 an hour, with potential for hourly wage increases.
Dynamic working conditions, indoors, outdoors, and on a working farm.
This part-time position does not offer health care or benefits.
About Little Otters (LO): LO is a nature and play based learning homeschool program for kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders. Students learn through play and exploration in nature on a working family farm.

Working Conditions: A large portion of this work is typically performed in an outdoor setting in all types of weather. The classroom is located on a working farm with animals and uneven terrain. May occasionally need to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and assist in keeping the classroom area clean. Work rarely occurs outside of scheduled hours.
